Diwali Celebrations + Seva

November 8 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of the most sacred and widely celebrated holidays in the Hindu tradition. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, wisdom over ignorance, and goodness over evil. Traditionally associated with the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after years of exile, as well as the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, Diwali is a time for lighting lamps, cleansing one’s home and heart, and welcoming abundance in its highest sense — spiritual clarity and inner wealth. At Temple of Peace, we observe Diwali not only through prayer and illumination, but also through acts of service. Service on this day reflects the deeper meaning of the festival: to become light for others. By offering seva — whether through charitable giving, food distribution, or community support — we embody the principle that true celebration is not only personal joy, but shared upliftment. In lighting outer lamps, we commit to igniting compassion and generosity within.
